NJ Peace Action will host a marshal training session with a qualified expert on January 11, 2025, from 11am-tp 1:00pm at the Quakers Meeting House in Montclair, NJ

We all want to be safe when attending events like vigils, protests, and marches. Marshals are trained persons meant to serve as peacekeepers who know how to de-escalate situations that may arise. The more marshals present, the safer all may be.

The training takes about two hours and will include instruction by (Do we want to name Matt here) a qualified expert.

We have all witnessed the increased aggression and tension at events in the past year and no one expects 2025 to be any better. That is why we are hosting the marshal training and hope to counteract that aggression with proven and peaceful de-escalation tactics that all can learn and benefit from.
