Militarism and Climate Change Webinar with 350NJ-Rockland

Did you know that the US military is the world’s single largest institutional consumer of fossil fuels? And that it is also the single largest institutional emitter of greenhouse gases? The military’s contribution to the climate crisis is often overlooked in discussions about the current climate emergency. Join NJPA and 350NJ-Rockland for an informative webinar on Monday, March 14th at 7:00pm EST on "Militarism and the Climate Crisis" with Gary Butterfield from Veterans for Peace.

Gary was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War and opposed the war while in the military. He is resolute in acting on his commitment to Peace. He is past President of the San Diego Chapter of Veterans For Peace and currently on the Steering Committee of the National Veterans For Peace Climate Crisis & Militarism Project. He is also a member of San Diego 350.org and is keenly interested in the effects of militarism on the climate crisis.
