Meet the Veterans for Peace Crew of the Golden Rule

Veterans For Peace “Golden Rule” Sailing to New Jersey to Bring

Message of Nuclear Disarmament and Uplift Local Struggles for

Environmental Justice & Peace

The world-renowned Golden Rule anti-nuclear sailboat, the first boat to engage in

environmental direct action in the world, is visiting New Jersey on May 19th, 20th, and 21st with its urgent call to eliminate nuclear weapons and war, so destructive to our environment, and to seize the opportunity to create a peaceful, sustainable environment where all communities thrive together peacefully.

The Golden Rule crew and ship are coming to our New Jersey ports to share their message of disarmament and demilitarization victories and to highlight the ongoing environmental injustice struggles of Newark, Jersey City and other Passaic and Hudson River communities that have wrestled for too many years with the toxic polluting legacy of the industrial and military complex, as well as current pollutions that still persist in overburdened, diverse communities. Veterans for Peace, owners of the Sailboat, will celebrate environmental milestones but also remind all how much more must be accomplished for sustainable environments for all communities.

With its mission to eliminate all weapons with their toxic legacy, such as Agent Orange dioxins still present in the Passaic River, the Golden Rule is bringing its advocacy for peaceful healthy, safe and sustainable communities, including public access to open space and the Passaic and Hudson riverfronts.

The crew of the historic 34-foot wooden ketch, a project of Veterans for Peace, will be on-hand for two engaging public events, open to all, at:
