Join New Jersey Peace Action at a Vigil in Solidarity with the People of Yemen
When : Saturday, December 10—Human Rights Day 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Bloomfield Avenue between Church St. and S. Fullerton Ave. Montclair, NJ
On Human Rights Day, December 10, New Jersey Peace Action is calling on Congress to cosponsor the Yemen House War Powers Resolution (H.J. Res. 87) and the Senate War Powers Resolution (S.J. Res. 56) to oppose U.S. support for the war in Yemen. Weapons provided by the United States have been used in devastating air strikes on the people of Yemen, currently suffering from famine, mass starvation, and widespread poverty after 7 years of war and the severe restrictions of an ongoing Saudi-led blockade. In this season of peace, Congress must act now to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people and end U.S. military support for the war.
